It has taken me a while to get this post together but I have finally accomplished it! Words cannot explain how amazing that day was! My friends and family worked so hard to make it the most beautiful wedding a girl could ask for!
I am beyond blessed to have these people in my life!
After a year and a half of planning the day had finally arrived. 500+ days seems so long but looking back it actually flew by. I never thought my wedding could be as great as it was. Planning a wedding was new to me. I had NO idea where to start or what I wanted for that matter. I think I threw around 10 different color schemes for the wedding until I finally called in quits and settled on a neutral color scheme. It fit me though- I am not a very colorful person.
Then it came time to pick the venue, choose a photographer, find cute bridesmaid dresses, and a wedding dress! Almost all of my bridesmaids and my momma went with me to pick out my dress. I knew that I had found the perfect dress when I walked out of the dressing room and my little sister ( who I would never expect to cry) and my best friend ( who I also would never expect to cry) started crying! I was so confused!! It was not what I went in there for but after I took it off it was all I could think of. The perfect dress for me!
My mother did an AMAZING job helping me plan this wedding. Brian was in NY, I was lburg, and she was home. Long distance wedding planning is tough but we made it happen!
Our goal for the wedding was to proclaim Jesus through the ceremony and our love. If just ONE person could hear the good news of Jesus Christ from being at our wedding then we would be happy. The ceremony was full of the love of Christ!
I am going to show you some great photos then I will be able to elaborate better!
There were so many people working on setting this up day of the wedding and I am beyond thankful for each of them! This would not have been possible without y’all!
Brian and I chose to do the washing of the feet as our first part of marriage. We felt that this humbling act that Jesus did in John 13 was what we wanted to incorporate daily in our marriage- serving one another.
John 13 says:
After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
Brian and I danced to You Make It Real by James Morrison. And remember those dance lessons we did so that we had a great first dance…well they didn’t really help. My hair got caught on a button on his sleeve for like 10 seconds!!! So embarrassing but seriously made great memories!
Our wedding was everything we could have asked for and more. Brian and I are so thankful for all of the hard work that was put into it!
After almost 3 months of marriage I can seriously say that I have the most amazing husband. He is so good to me and He is such a Christ-centered leader in our home. I am beyond thankful for the blessings that God has given me through Brian!
