I haven’t blogged in over two months. This feels so foreign to me right now! First off I cannot believe it is already November! I have already started playing the Christmas music ( too early?!). In my last post I talked about how running and faith go together in my life, today I just wanted to give an update on pretty much everything going on with me!
1.) My girl Carlie is getting SO big! She has one more lesson left of training and has been doing so well. Brian and I are very pleased with her. When Brian is gone she keeps me sane and also drives me insane at points. She is such a sweet blessing!
2.) Marriage is AWESOME! The past 5 months have been the best time of my life. the Lord has seriously blessed me with such an amazing husband. We have learned so much about ourselves, each other and Jesus along the way and I know I have SO MUCH more to learn!
3.) I ran my first full marathon this past weekend! Definitely the hardest thing I have ever done, yet I already want to do it again! A few friends and our husbands went to Savannah for the Rock n Roll Savannah Marathon/ 1/2 half marathon. My friends both ran their first half marathon! I am so excited for them!!! I am so thankful for both of these women- when Brian is gone I can count on them for anything- It is such a sweet gift to have them here with me!
Brian came to support me ( like he does for almost every race) he is my number one fan!
About the marathon…. after every race I think about my training and feel like I could have trained harder. I think for this race I could have done a few more tempo runs on tired legs. I learned my lesson though. The first 20 miles went smooth… then I hit the wall. It seriously felt like the last 6 miles were longer than the first 20! I think the best part of the race was just learning how to mentally prepare for the next one. Now I know the pain that comes with running a marathon and I can prepare better. It was hard and I was so pissed during the last 6 miles but it was awesome at the same time. I am so thankful for my awesome friends at work that pushed me in my long runs and encouraged me in my running! My overall time was a 3:56. It wasn’t sub 3:50 but it was still a lot of hard work to get that 3:56!
Next on my radar- hopefully the Miami ING Marathon. Not sure if everything will work out for me to make it down there but I am going to keep running consistently to stay in marathon shape.
I am hoping that as things kind of slow down and I am finally in the groove of living in Georgia, working, being a wife, and in grad school I can finally start blogging again! My husband asked me to start blogging again because he missed reading my thoughts- It was the sweetest thing! I am so glad he supports my hobbies like running and blogging!
This is all I have for now… Carlie wants me to take her on a walk!
Have a wonderful Tuesday! Make someone smile!
