I can’t believe it is Friday already!

My friend Melissa over at FreeingImperfections does something called ‘Faith in my Friday’ and it is so encouraging! This is something that I definitely want to start incorporating into the blog!

Reading and studying the Bible have been a crucial part of my relationship with the Lord. It is a gift given to us by God to draw near to Him. I have been studying Hebrews 12 for about a month now and it has been so humbling.  You may have noticed that the tagline of my blog is Hebrews 12:1 “…and let us run with perseverance the raced marked out for us”. Perseverance is a big part of growing in Christ. The Christian life is hard life but it is a rewarding, joyful life! We will face many trials tribulations but we are called to persevere through them, fixing our eyes on Christ (v.2). And when we are going through these trials we are told to ‘consider Him who endured such oppositions from sinners so that you will not grow weary and lose heart’ (Hebrews 12:3). Jesus suffered and faced trials just as we do today. He is our encouragement to get through these hard times because we know that the our God was tempted and tried as we are, yet he did not sin. He understands it when we go through trials! I am so thankful for this word of encouragement and for the trials that the Lord has given me to bring me closer to him! Keep persevering through whatever it is you may be going through!!!

YESTERDAYS HIKING TRIP was so much fun… and a little bit intimidating. I guess it was just preparation for my move to Colorado! Brian and I went hiking for a little bit yesterday to a place about 45 minutes away from my house called Devils Marble yard (creepy name). Here is a quick rendition of yesterday’s trip :)

About 20 minutes into the hike we had to cross a stream and the water covered up the crossing rocks… Brian made it across no problem at all because seriously he seems invincible at times… I on the other had tried to skip across and of course lost balance… that being said my shoes and socks were completely soaked the rest of the hike. Brian ended up just walking straight through the next stream to make me feel better about my feet being wet.

Afte about an hour of hiking we made it to the Devil’s Marble yard…. this is what  I saw …. and all I could think is ‘you want me to climb that when our wedding is only two months away!!!!’

Doesn’t that look intimidating!? Well it was! I’m not going to lie… I was scared… and I let Brian know it! I followed Brians every move as we climbed and every rock we went over I would say something like ‘you know I have two races in april and I can’t get hurt’ or ‘ I have to walk down the aisle in two months- I better not break anything’. It was actually a lot of fun and I felt super adventurous!

about 3/4 of the way up I stopped complaining and really embraced how beautiful God’s creation is! It was an amazing view! I am so glad we climbed the rocks!

It was really bright out there…. i’m guessing that is why his eyes are shut! ( we climbed those rocks!) and I didn’t get hurt! (side note: Last night I went to my brothers house and told him about our hiking trip and he said ‘ oh yea I had to get stitches from climbing those rocks once…’ ) I made it out alive! no stitches!

We had such a fun day! Now I am ready to go to REI and get some new hiking gear!!!

Random side note: I am so thankful that Brian and I share the same love for fitness and outdoor activities like hiking. It really makes things more fun and enjoyable just knowing that he is having as much fun as I am! He is such a sweet blessing and gift from the Lord!

Do you have hiking shoes? If so- what do you recommend?
