Ran outside: 5 miles/45 min
Ab Workout from OliveToRun posted here ( she is AWESOME, check out her blog)!!
Today’s run felt really great on my legs. It was at an easy pace and very hilly. It was also a VERY chilly day for it to be April 4th. I ran in my PureCadence shoes- I’ve decided that these are good for like 7 miles and under. I didn’t really like them as much for the longer runs.
I did something on this run that I don’t normally do- I RAN WITHOUT MUSIC! It was just me and nature…and all of my thoughts. I enjoyed it. It was very peaceful to just run with nothing blaring in my ears. I spent some time in prayer and I spent some time thinking about the most random things… like my outfit for my bridal shower and what coffee is going to taste like when I can put sugar in it again… you know.. the usual. I think this is the start of something great though- at least for my shorter runs. One day I will attempt a long run with no music. I spent more time concentrating on my form and my breathing which was great for me. I think that when I listen to music I end up running to the beat of the music. I probably breath way louder too since I can’t hear myself. I feel like there are so many little things changing about my running lately. I’m loving it! When I got back I did an AB workout with my sister-in-law! It was pretty tough- especially all of those push-ups- thats my weakness! Me doing push ups is as challenging as that girl climbing that rock…
I spent the morning babysitting my two nieces! They are so precious ( and I got a little bit of practice being a mommy)! It was a lot of fun. It was also a little bit tiring but it made me so excited to have children! All you moms out there seriously rock!!!
When my sister-in-law got home she made us green chili turkey burgers and salad for lunch. It was DELICIOUS and sugar detox friendly! I have to share this recipe with you all because I liked it so much! She got the recipe off of this awesome blog called Elana’s Pantry. It has a ton of gluten-free, grain-free, and paleo-friendly recipes that are not too hard to make!
Here is the recipe:
Green Chili Turkey Burgers
2 (4 oz.) cans diced green chiles
1 pound ground turkey
1 cup cilantro, finely chopped
½ cup onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon Celtic sea salt
In a medium-sized bowl mix diced chiles with turkey, cilantro, onion, cumin, chili powder, and salt
Form into burgers and grill
Again- so sorry about the picture quality- it is on my list of improvements!!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday!!
Do you run with music?
