Ran Outside: 14 miles
Today’s run did not go as planned at all. Originally it was supposed to be 15 miles at 6 a.m. this morning but it ended up being 14 miles at 6 p.m after a 4-hour car ride back from Va Beach. I think I learned a few things from this run like when the alarm goes off in the morning just get up and go- it is so much nicer to run early and be done with it. Also, I need to eat more before I plan on running 15 miles. All that I really ate today before the run was chicken and salad, coffee, a banana, and some strawberries. It probably wasn’t the smartest decision when I had a long run planned. I felt very weak and tired. I was 1 mile away from finishing the run… I was definitely mentally defeated on this one. Once it got dark and my foot was burning with pain (more on this later) my mind gave up. All in all 14 miles is better than no miles and lessons learned are always good. I know this is a stepping stone.
After runs like this, I LOVE recovering with ice and PRO Compression Marathon socks! I started wearing these after most of my longer runs ( and shorter now) back in November when I purchased my first pair. Some of the perks of these socks are that it increases the blood flow and stability in the legs resulting in quicker recovery.
There are so many different colors you can choose from and it definitely makes running more stylish for me. I have tried running with the marathon socks but I think I prefer the lower socks while running and the marathon socks for after the run. It has been working well for me this way lately!
PRO Compression will be giving away a pair of marathon socks to ONE reader on this blog! Exciting stuff!!
